Health Benefits of Mangosteen

I have eaten lots of mangosteen ever since I came here in Thailand especially when it’s on season. I love its taste that range from strawberry, peach, vanilla ice cream with a very slight sourness.

Scientists have found the juice from the thick and rough rind of mangosteen to contain xanthones-biologically active, natural chemical substances that have extremely potent antioxidants that can fight inflammation, bacteria, fungus infection, allergies, and even cancer. The greatest discovery to date is that xanthones can exhibit the oxidation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL).

Mangosteen juice should not be taken as medication but as food supplement to enhance and strengthen the immune system of the body. Magosteen juice is now commercially available in health food stores. Suggested intake is 1-2 oz., three times daily for known medical ailments. For preventive dose, take 1 oz., two time daily.
